1/11 – Vertical Challenge @ Saddleback

The Vertical Challenge is a fun, free ski and snowboard race series for all ages and abilities, featuring giant slalom courses, medals, and adaptive categories so everyone can compete. Beyond the races, the day turns into a lively winter festival with games, free samples, prizes, and activities for the whole family—making it a can’t-miss event on the mountain!

1/17 & 1/24 – Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides @ Rangeley Adventure Co

Experience the charm of a Rangeley winter with horse-drawn wagon rides through the snow-covered streets and trails. Cozy up under warm blankets, take in the picturesque scenery, and enjoy a unique, family-friendly winter activity that’s perfect for creating lasting memories.

1/29–2/1 – Snodeo 2026!

Snodeo is one of Rangeley’s most beloved winter traditions, offering an action-packed weekend full of thrilling activities, delicious food, and community spirit. This annual celebration brings together locals and visitors alike to enjoy everything from snowmobiling and family-friendly fun to exciting events like Casino Night, the Chili Chowder Cook-Off, Annual Auction, Parade, Rave X Show, Fireworks, and more. 1/31 – Bissell Brothers Collaboration Dinner at The Nest

Take a ride up the mountain in Saddleback’s Pisten Bully cabin cat and join them at The Nest on January 31 for Beyond the Rime Line, a one-of-a-kind Bissell Brothers dinner with indulgent multi-course bites paired with perfect winter pours!

Rangeley’s Annual Pond Hockey Festival brings players and fans together on the frozen surface of Haley Pond for a weekend of exciting games and winter fun. 2/8 – The Gambler-Uphill Challenge to Benefit Patrol & USASA Maine Mountain Series Slopestyle Event

Spend a full day of fun at Saddleback! Start your morning with The Gambler, an uphill fundraiser for Saddleback Ski Patrol where each lap earns you a playing card and a chance to win prizes. Then stick around for some high-flying action as New England’s best young skiers compete in the USASA Slopestyle Competition on Wheeler Slope. Great skiing, prizes, and top-notch tricks—there’s something for everyone!

2/8 – The Gambler – Uphill Challenge Benefit Patrol @ Saddleback

Get ready for The Gambler-Uphill Challenge on Sunday, February 8, 2026, a fun and unique fundraiser benefiting the Saddleback Ski Patrol. Participants grab skis, skins, or snowshoes and collect playing cards on the uphill trail to build the best poker hand, with prizes for winners and extra cards for each additional lap. After the final descent, gather at The Pub at 3 PM to see who takes home the prize!

Celebrate Valentine’s weekend with live music! Hymn For Her plays Friday, 2/13, and Saturday, 2/14—perfect for a night out with your special someone!

2/14 – Snowmobile Trailside Rest Stop with RLHT

Snowmobilers are invited to stop by the Hunter Cove Uplands trailside rest stop to warm up by the fire with hot cocoa, food, and good company while learning about efforts to preserve snowmobile access in the Rangeley region!

Join RLHT on February 17 for a guided snowshoe at Mingo Springs, offered in the afternoon and again by lantern light in the evening. Warm up by the fire with hot cocoa and s’mores while learning about the land, wildlife, and conservation work at Mingo Springs!

2/18 – Taqueria Night at The Nest @ Saddleback

Get ready to fiésta at 3,620′ during Taqueria Night at The Nest! Take a ride in the cabin cat to The Nest and enjoy a taqueria-inspired menu with friends. Space is limited, seatings are by reservation only, and more details—including the menu and pricing—will be announced soon!

Hop on a vintage snowmobile and hit the trails with the Vintage Snowmobile Ride, starting at 10:00 AM at the RLSC Groomer Barn. Enjoy hotdogs and hamburgers, all for a $10 donation, with proceeds supporting the Rangeley Lakes Snowmobile Club. It’s a fun, tasty, and nostalgic way to celebrate winter!

3/8 – Women on the Rise @ Saddleback

Celebrate International Women’s Day on Sunday, March 8, 2026, with Women on the Rise, Saddleback’s first women’s uphill adventure. Meet at the Lodge at 6:30 a.m. and tour to the Saddleback Summit with guidance from experienced patrollers, then enjoy a well-earned breakfast together at The Nest. Open to all ages and abilities, participants should be comfortable descending blue terrain and bring uphill gear like AT skis, tele skis, or splitboards.

July 1-5: The Rangeley Friends of the Arts presents Chicago, the musical

Start July with a bang as the Rangeley Friends of the Arts present Chicago, the iconic musical filled with jazz, scandal, and showbiz. Set in the roaring 1920s, the story follows Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly—two rival murderesses fighting for fame and freedom. With unforgettable music, sharp satire, and Fosse-inspired choreography, this production promises high-energy entertainment. Shows run July 1, 2, and 4 at 7 p.m., with a matinee on July 5 at 4 p.m. Tickets are available online or at the box office (Tues–Sat, 10am–2pm).

Stop by Morton & Furbish for festive face painting with Rebecca Reed of Beauty and the Brush—look for the hot pink tent!
