Protect your Vacation

We offer optional travel insurance to help protect your vacation investment in the event of unexpected changes to your plans. Coverage is provided through Play Travel Protection, with two options available:


    Standard Travel Protection

    Cost: 7 % of Reservation Total.

    This plan provides reimbursement for up to 100% of your prepaid, non-refundable trip costs if you need to cancel or interrupt your stay for one of 30+ covered reasons, such as certain illnesses, injuries, or other qualifying events. 

    Travel Protection with Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR)

    Cost: 10.8% of your reservation total

    This plan includes all the benefits of Standard Travel Protection, plus added flexibility. If you need to cancel for a reason not otherwise covered, CFAR allows you to receive a partial reimbursement (60% of your trip cost). Not available to guests from NY, and WA.

    Important Details

    • Travel insurance must be purchased within 14 days of booking 
    • Standard Travel Protection: If your reservation is made less than 30 days before check-in, the policy must be purchased within 5 days of booking
    • CFAR coverage: Must be purchased at least 30 days prior to check-in
    • CFAR cancellations: Must be made at least 3 days prior to your check-in date
    • Coverage details, eligibility, and exclusions may vary by state or province

    Why Consider Travel Insurance?

     Unexpected situations can arise before or during your trip. Travel insurance can help protect your investment and provide peace of mind. 

     For example, on a $1,000 reservation, the cost of Standard Travel Protection would be approximately $70. In the event of a covered cancellation, this coverage may help recover your costs.

    Accidental Damage Coverage 

    Accidental Damage Protection is included in the total cost of your reservation and provides coverage up to $1,500 per stay for accidental damage during your visit. This coverage replaces the need for a traditional security deposit.

    With this protection, you and your guests are not responsible for accidental damage to the rental property’s contents, as long as it is reported and meets the policy terms.

    This coverage does not apply to:

    • Intentional damage or willful misconduct 
    • Gross negligence 
    • Unreported damage (must be reported before check-out) 
    • Normal wear and tear 
    • Theft without forced entry 
    • Damage caused by unauthorized pets or animals 
    • Failure to take reasonable care to protect the property
