July 1-5: The Rangeley Friends of the Arts presents Chicago, the musical
Start July with a bang as the Rangeley Friends of the Arts present Chicago, the iconic musical filled with jazz, scandal, and showbiz. Set in the roaring 1920s, the story follows Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly—two rival murderesses fighting for fame and freedom. With unforgettable music, sharp satire, and Fosse-inspired choreography, this production promises high-energy entertainment. Shows run July 1, 2, and 4 at 7 p.m., with a matinee on July 5 at 4 p.m. Tickets are available online or at the box office (Tues–Sat, 10am–2pm).

Award-winning Maine children’s author and illustrator Chris Van Dusen will visit the Rangeley Public Library on Wednesday, July 2 from 11am-12pm. He’ll read from his books, share artwork, and demonstrate his illustration process, followed by a Q&A. This free event is open to all—call or stop by the library to reserve your spot, and don’t forget to bring a book for signing!
July 2nd: Oquossoc Village Walking Tour – 11am
Explore the charm of Oquossoc Village with a one-hour guided walking tour starting at 11:00 a.m. from the Outdoor Heritage Museum. Along the way, you’ll learn about the area’s early history, view vintage images from the Historic Rangeley collections, and see where some of the region’s first buildings once stood!

July 3rd: Rangeley Doll Carriage Parade – 10am
The Children’s Doll Carriage Parade is a cherished local tradition that kicks off at 10am at the Rangeley Inn & Tavern and winds its way to Town Park. Young participants decorate their carriages with creative flair, drawing big smiles from the crowd. At the end of the parade, an awards ceremony recognizes standout entries for their originality and festive spirit!
July 3rd: Face Painting – 10am
Stop by Morton & Furbish for festive face painting with Rebecca Reed of Beauty and the Brush—look for the hot pink tent! She’ll be creating colorful designs for all ages, and we’ll have popsicles, glow sticks, and cold water to keep things cool. It’s all free (tips are appreciated), so come say hi and join the fun!

The Bronco Buster Downhill Event is Back at Saddleback!
Get ready for a thrilling downhill event! On Sunday, April 13, 2025, the Bronco Buster returns to Saddleback, where participants will race down the Tightline run in a fun and challenging competition.
Bronco Buster Rules:
The goal is simple: make it down Tightline without stopping or falling! Those who stay on their feet will be entered to win amazing prizes, including ticket packs, Turtleboxes, Stio gear, and more! Categories include Slowest, Ugliest, Longest, Shortest, Loudest, Quietest, and Best Costume – with creative interpretations by both competitors and judges!
It’s all about having fun, so whether you’re competing for prizes or just here for the laughs, the Bronco Buster is an event you won’t want to miss!

Friday, April 25th
2–6 PM: Rider bib pickup and sled tech checks
5–8 PM: Enjoy live music from Toby McAllister & The Sierra Sounds at The Pub
Saturday, April 26th
6–8AM: Final rider bib pickup and sled tech checks
8:30 AM: Riders’ Meeting
9:00 AM: The races begin!
Noon: Kids’ race begins
