Windy Cross

This was my 3rd stay at Windy Cross. I bring clients up here fishing every year, and this is by far our favorite place to stay. The location is great for fishing(even off the dock), views are spectacular, and you can't beat a hottub after a long day of spring fishing. I would highly recommend Windy Cross for staying on Rangeley Lake.

Super convenient for Saddleback, the IGA is 2 minutes away. Despite great accessibility, still felt secluded. Perfect. House was gorgeous, on a very pretty lot. Well stocked and in good shape. Thank you, host and owner! We had high hopes and expectations and couldn’t be happier with the week we spent at windy cross.

Rangeley is the ideal vacation spot! Between breathtaking views of the lake and mountains and the charming smalltown feel, you can't go wrong! We loved getting a chance to rent a boat and explore the lakes, as well as attending the strawberry festival and local farmers markets!

We had a super, two family, vacation and it was perfect! Arrival was easy, unpacked and started to relax at the dock and then later family gathered fireside. The rooms and bathroom set up worked great for us. Enjoyed the hot tub, fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and many books were read on that lovely dock! We rented a pontoon boat and cruised across the lake to check out the views, and pull the kids on the tube behind the boat. Excellent weather!! Thanks for everything!! The Dustin Family Concord NH

Quiet private spectacular location on the lake. House worked great for our extended family while in town for a wedding. Convenient to the venue and close to town. Would recommend!

Beautiful house right on the lake, close to town for shopping, boat rentals, and restaurants. Very private space to feel comfortable being around outside. House was very spacious and comfortable, with a great basement for games. Very clean and well maintained!!!

This house is great - from location to amenities, it's fantastic. Wonderful dock, sunsets, and location close to town. The only thing I would recommend would be to add in stairs to the dock in addition to the ladder - for older folks. Will be back again!

We had a wonderful stay at Windy Cross with our family of 6 adults and 4 kids! The kids loved the bunk room downstairs, and there was plenty of space for all of the adults. The property was fantastic and the location on the lake was perfect. The sunsets on the lake and the hot tub were great evening additions. Morton & Furbish was extremely responsive anytime we had questions or needed anything and were so easy to work with!

This is the third time renting this camp. I bring clients up for the week. There is no question we will be renting this camp next year. The layout is perfect, the location is perfect, and the hot tub is a great bonus after being on the water all morning. As always, Morton Furbish is fantastic to work with as the renting agent. Windy cross is an amazing property. We loved our stay although we wish we had longer. . We are extremely happy with attentiveness. We would never complain about the small first world issues we had …..couldn’t get hot tub hot enough and couldn’t get television to work. The only reason I even mention is to let you know it was handled by Garr quickly and professionally . Thanks again for everything great place to stay great property management!

Is it even possible to leave your troubles behind during pandemic times? At Windy Cross, for a little while it was. The serene setting was just what we wanted. There were only two of us and two dogs at this terrific respite, other than a look-see we spent almost no time in the massive basement playroom or the extra bedrooms upstairs. A family would be in the perfect setting here. It's beautiful, it's built for relaxation, it's close to the charming qualities of Rangeley ... cannot wait to come back.

Pictures of Windy Cross are extremely accurate. Great home for a large group. We had 3 families and had plenty of space. Beautiful views and great lake access. Very quiet and relaxing, hot tub is a big plus. We plan to rent this home again.

We had a fantastic time at Windy Cross. The dock was a lovely place to sit and the water was perfect for a swim. Nice and clear, no weeds. We enjoyed s'mores by the fire pit, hot tubs in the evening, and the kids loved the basement space. Though we had a few days of rain, the house comfortably accommodated all 8 of us - with a small built-in table in the back corner (a bald eagle landed on the swim platform while playing games at the table!) and the generous front room with a TV - it worked for everyone. Thanks for a great stay!

First of all, I have to say the staff at Morton & Furbish are top notch! They gave exceptional customer service and answered all of our questions during the booking process. Windy Cross is in a great location to the town and any activities (like hiking Bald Mountain) and the home was very clean when we arrived. The property is private but the neighbor came over the first night to say they would be having a bon fire on their beach and would do everything to keep the smoke from our direction. The waterfront offers exceptional views of the lake and sunsets. We sat on the dock, enjoying some fishing, and then sat on the front door deck sheltered when the wind picked up. The home had everything we needed and the instructions were clear and available. We hope to come back again next year!

Our group of 5 couple thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The private space gave us lots of room to be together, but also allowed us plenty of space to be alone. The sunset were amazing and having a grocery store less than a mile away meant we had everything we needed. Would love to come again!

Windy Cross was perfect for our large family. There was plenty of different areas for adults to visit together and space for the children to play. The kids enjoyed the dock and the beach area.

This home is spacious with all of the amenities and a great view of the mountains and lake. It is close to town and the perfect girl getaway for us. We had a massage therapist come to the house which was totally awesome. She set up her table in the back room and when finished we all enjoyed the hot tub with martinis overlooking the lake. We have booked for next year already.

Our group rented this house for a long weekend and it is by far, the best house we have rented in Rangeley. The views of Rangeley Lake are stunning and the privacy from the surrounding homes is fantastic. The house is very spacious; we never felt too crowded with our 10 people. Though we have only rented this house in the winter, I can imagine it's even more of a catch in the summer!

Our family enjoyed our Labor Day vacation at Windy Cross. The property is perfect for a large family with children. We have rented many properties in the Rangeley Lakes Region and this one has one of the best private beaches for your family and children to enjoy. The sunset across the lake is amazing as well. We look forward to renting this property again.
