Amazing!
This was all we hoped for and more - peaceful, quiet, off the beaten path. Loons on a lake with no motorboats - just a few canoes and kayaks. Great fishing and the cabin is a throwback to old Maine camps - but with modern amenities. It was clean and lovely, the lake views and proximity to the water can only be found in old school camps. If you're looking for a peaceful place to restore your soul - this is it. Morton and Furbish Vacation Rentals response: We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and enjoyed the lake! Have an amazing summer :)

Communication was excellent from beginning to end. The cabin is in an excellent location - in the middle of nowhere but 10 minutes from town. The bench seating in the porch area of the cabin would be more comfortable if replaced by some basic furniture, but it certainly didn't ruin the experience!

What a peaceful gem! We booked this at the last minute and we're so happy we did. It's amazingly quiet--we heard loons but not much else. We loved that the lake doesn't allow motorized watercraft. This is definitely a Maine camp--simple, no frills, and that's what makes it great!

Wow we had the best time ever! Great swimming and canoeing! Lovely cottage with everything we needed and more! We did learn one thing the fishing in August is not great because salmon and trout like cold water! One downfall was the steep descent to the cottage. With healthy knees it is a very cute cottage!

Beautiful and serene
Tempel is a beautifully maintained older York-style cabin, which has been renovated and modernized to maximize the view to the lake, which is steps away--it feels light, bright and airy! Wonderful swimming, furnished with two great kayaks and a canoe. It is modern enough-- with a great kitchen/living space configuration--without loosing the summer cabin feeling. This is a great place for family and close friends. Those sleeping in the loft bedroom must go to the bathroom through the downstairs bedroom. People with walking difficulties will find the descent to the cabin challenging. Otherwise, it is the most wonderful place to stay! This summer was our sixth year renting Tempel and we love it.

Beautiful week on a lake with loons in rural Maine
The house was perfect, immaculately clean, especially bathroom and kitchen. Well appointed with kitchen cutlery, dishes, pots and pans. And there were board games and a pack of cards if we tired of playing in the water or drinking in the beauty of the lake and trees. Spectacular. Just a bit far to get to from our home.
