Description Description
Tucked along the peaceful shoreline of Loon Lake, Sleepy Hollow offers a unique waterfront retreat made up of two separate cabins connected by a covered breezeway—perfect for families or groups who want to stay together while still enjoying their own private space. Your reservation includes access to both cabins, with additional sleeping areas thoughtfully spread between them, creating a comfortable layout for gathering together and retreating when you’d like quiet time.

The only sounds you’ll hear are loons calling and the breeze through the trees. As a motor-free lake, Loon Lake offers unmatched quiet and calm... perfect for morning paddles, swimming off the dock, or simply soaking in the stillness. Large lake-facing windows and a spacious front porch frame the view, making the water feel like part of the home.

Inside, this classic Maine camp blends rustic charm with cozy comfort. Sunlight pours through oversized windows, creating a bright, inviting space to gather after a day outdoors. Whether you’re sipping coffee on the porch, reading by the lake, or watching the sunset paint the sky, Sleepy Hollow makes it easy to slow down and settle into “lake time.”

Originally built in 1906 as part of the historic York family sporting camps, Sleepy Hollow carries over a century of Rangeley tradition. Once connected to a beloved collection of cabins and lodge life on Loon Lake, the home still reflects that heritage—simple, authentic, and rooted in generations of memories. Staying here feels like stepping into a piece of Rangeley history while enjoying the peaceful retreat guests return to year after year.

A Perfect, Peaceful Waterfront Retreat!
My boyfriend, our 10-year-old pup, and I just returned from a getaway here, and it was the exact escape we needed. The cabin was beautiful, super clean, and equipped with a great shower and a convenient washer/dryer. With gorgeous lake views, easy water access, and provided paddle boards and kayaks, we had a blast scaling the lake from end to end. We also loved learning all about the York family history and the old campground that used to be here. Between the fresh air, evening fire pit, outdoor games, and a cute, well-stocked kitchen that meant we didn't even need to leave for food, it had everything we could have wanted. While Rangeley is a cute town, the setting on Loon Lake was so perfect that we happily stayed put. We can't wait to book our next trip back!

Fun Adventure!
Girlfriend and I had a great time! Cabins were quiet and comfortable and we spent lots of time on the water. Awesome place to get away and experience Rangeley and Loon Lake for the first time.

Perfect Getaway
We had a terrific time and will definitely stay there again next year. Quiet and peaceful and with amazing sunsets on the dock, yet still close enough to Rangeley Lake for boating, golf, nightlife, and of course bowling, man. Sleepy Hollow has modern convenience and a rustic cabin combined into a unique stay experience that is hard to match, and Loon Lake is still an unspoiled bit of Maine that will not disappoint.

Maine Summer Getaway
We have visited Maine previously, but only on the coast. The inland part has its own sets of treasures. If you are looking for something remote and rustic, without being entirely cut off from society, then you should definitely consider Sleepy Hollow cabins. It’s an easy 2.5hr drive from Portland and close to the town of Rangeley where there are some quaint shops, a grocery store, and a few decent restaurants. But the best part is you’re within easy driving of lots of hiking, fishing, waterfalls, and other adventures. The cabin is right on Loon Lake, which is gorgeous and has the benefit of being a non-motorized spot. We loved jumping off the dock for a swim, grabbing a kayak, canoe, or SUP for a paddle across the water, and biking around the local trails. Sitting on the screened in breezeway enjoying morning coffee, watching the hummingbirds flit about, relaxing in the hammock listening to the wind in the trees, and stargazing at night were just some of the most peaceful times. The cabin was super clean, the bed was comfy, it was equipped with every amenity, and the hosts were great at communicating. If you’re considering, just book it - you will be glad you did!

Amazing place
This place is truly amazing. When I arrived it started to rain heavily but soon cleared up and the sun came out. I sat by the lake and enjoyed the beautiful view. At night it was great to have a fire going and enjoy the peace and quiet. I stayed there by myself but this place has so many fun things to offer for a family stay. I would highly recommend it if your looking for a place to get away for a quiet vacation on the lake. Close to Rangeley that has a lot of nice spots to eat, coffee, and a grocery store
