Camp Whynot

An annual trip that my brothers and I make to Rangeley and to this property specifically never seems to disappoint. Very comfortable home with enough room to accommodate us. The Team at Morton and Furbish couldn't be more accommodating to fill our needs. Those small details are what and why we continue to come back. Thank you again for an amazing week and we look forward to next year to do it again.

Great property with a beautiful view of the lake! It was very close to Saddleback Mountain and several hiking trails, which was perfect for my dog and me. We were also just a short drive from town for anything we needed. The hosts were responsive and friendly. Overall, it was a great stay with a group of my friends!

Great property with a beautiful view of the lake. Very private but also a short drive into downtown Rangeley and only 15 minutes to Saddleback ski area. The host was friendly, responsive, and accommodating. Highly recommend!

If you’re looking for a well kept ,very clean ,very well stocked and located close to all activities. This place is for you. The Staff at M&F couldn’t be any more pleasant…. Only concern for my group is that we could have used a grill…. We ended up cooking some Ribeyes on the open flame out side…. Other than that… I highly recommend this cabin..

I live in Virginia. I've been using Morton & Furbish for my vacation rentals for over 20 years and will continue to do so. I have never ONCE been disappointed! Their website is easy to use and I appreciate the detailed descriptions and photos provided for each cabin. It's also refreshing to be talking to a "real" person if you call their office! Their staff are all friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Their cleaning and maintenance crews are likewise top notch. All the cabins I've rented over the years have been spotless and any unexpected maintenance issues quickly resolved!

The Whynot is a great house just outside of downtown Rangeley so everything is with close distance from the house. The house is comfortable and has everything you need for your stay. We had eight people staying in the house which made it a little tight in the living/kitchen area when everyone is together. I think it's a perfect house for three couples. It was disappointing that we couldn't access the snowmobile trails from the house but understand that Mother Nature has been tough on the area. Hopefully, the access trails will be fixed before next season and above all else, get some snow!! We really enjoyed our stay at the Whynot and would stay there again.

Our stay was great from start to finish. Even the dog loved it. Great people at Morton and Furbish. The only issue we had was Mother Nature decided to dump 9 inches of snow the night before we were leaving.

We had a great time over February break at Camp Whynot. We skied at Saddleback all week and it was an easy drive to the mountain and comfortable place after a long day of skiing. There was plenty of room for 3 adult couples and two children. I would call the basement and loft beds sleeping areas, not enclosed bedrooms, but still great sleeping areas. Nice big, level, plowed driveway for multiple vehicles to easily come and go. Well stocked kitchen with pots/pans, pantry spices, and such. Extra fridge in the basement was great as we brought a lot of food and beverage! On the Stairway to the upstairs, older folks and little ones need to be careful, the stairway is open to living area and not a full rail on wall side. Very nice sunset view. Overall great rental, would recommend.

Our family enjoyed our stay at Camp Whynot. It's a quite secluded location about 10 minutes out of the downtown. The camp is clean and spacious with enough are to entertain. Nice view of Rangeley lake from the main living area and deck.. We would certainly consider staying here again.

We first stayed at Camp Whynot back in 2019 and recently spent time there and it's still as beautiful as ever. The staff (Sara, Ethna, Beth, Melinda, Brittany and Dan) are wonderful to work with. If there's ever a maintenance or technical issue,Dan is sent over right away. Exceptional customer service!

Camp Whynot was the first place we rented in the winter several years ago. We fell in love with the Rangeley area and always come back every winter and summer. Not only were the people working at Morton and Furbish rental agency very professional and resourceful, but they were helpful in a timely manner. Anytime we needed assistance they immediately took care of things to our satisfaction. This year was quite an adventure with a winter storm and a power outage. As usual, Morton & Furbish were in contact with us and made sure we had everything we needed. Fortunately, the power outage was corrected after several hours, but with our interactions and information from the agency, we felt safe and sound and enjoyed our stay. We always rent from Morton & Furbish. The places they offer are beautiful and their service is superb.

The cabin was wonderful! GREAT views of the lake and very secluded. Could not hear anyone in surrounding homes. Road noise was loud at first but seemed to disappear. House was nicely equipped. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a lovely vacation!

Loved the home and view! Plenty of room for everyone, to sit & sleep comfortably. Mattresses were comfortable. Open kitchen and living room for just being together. Kitchen pretty well stocked for cooking (just wish it had some plastic plates for young kiddos) We didn't use the downstairs bonus space but definitely would be awesome for a larger family retreat! Just be mindful if f you have young children- the stairs do not have railings or a corner post to securely block off with baby gate…Would definitely book here again!

Another great experience in Rangeley! Camp Whynot had plenty of space and the sleeping areas were very comfortable. Parking was a huge plus for trailers and trucks. Our only downfall of the property was the snowmobile access. It is a rough 5 plus miles to get to the real trails, including long stretches of paved roads. We found it was easiest and convenient to trailer downtown. Overall, we were pleased with this rental.

Great experience from start to finish. They are very responsive to any questions or concerns, and send detailed updates and instructions. The rental was spotless clean, very spacious, and high quality. The views were great and could be seen from almost the entire house. The wall of windows makes the house so bright and sunny. Combined with the well insulated home and warm wood, no heat was needed at all due to the passive solar heating. The location is ideal for pretty much any direction in Rangeley area. Definitely recommend.

Camp Whynot was the perfect place for our week-long winter break in the Rangeley area. The view of the lake from the living area was stunning. The home was beautiful, generous in size for our family of four, and could easily accommodate two families. The extra living space in the basement was an added bonus. It was a short drive in to town and less than 30 minutes to Saddleback. We love exploring the Rangeley area in all seasons, and Camp Whynot was a wonderful home to relax in after a fun day skiing, ice skating or snowshoeing. We would not hesitate to stay again!

Camp Whynot was a gorgeous place for a getaway! The view is beautiful and the location is perfect. We loved spending our evenings on the deck and our nights cozied up in the living room in front of the fire. Would highly recommend for a multi family or family and friends vacation spot!

This camp is beautiful. Nice views. Love the setup. I have to say it's slightly smaller than what I envisioned. Still, not a con, it was cozy. If you have sleds...like previous comments say, it's a hike. But doable. Plently of parking space was a pro for sure. Should update TV's and such....

We stayed at Camp Whynot last year and loved it so much that we returned to it again this year for a week at Christmas. The chalet is very comfortable and has great views of Rangeley Lake and the mountains. Not only is it relaxing and peaceful, but it also has everything anyone could ask for to help enjoy their stay. The 2 bathrooms, internet, satellite tv, and a cozy stove, are just a few examples. We plan to return next winter, if not sooner. Morton & Furbish take good care of their customers. They are a first-class real estate agency. I highly recommend doing business with them.

Our annual hunting trip was spent at this very comfortable and well equipped home. The outside fire pit on cold nights was an awesome treat and it made our Steaks taste absolutely delicious.We had 6 guys and space was not an issue at all. The staff at Morton and Furbish especially Sarah and Melinda are always helpful and willing To suggest up coming events in town. 7 of us stayed at Camp Why not for 3 days to do some snowmobiling. Plenty of parking room for trucks and trailers - huge plus. Room for all to sleep. Nice Décor. Drawbacks - basement was cold. Not enough light to see the dart board, light switches are strange. Long trek to get to trails on sled, but can be done. Most of the my guests really liked the place and want to stay there again next year.

***OWNER RESPONSE - We’ll be sure to address the lighting level in the basement.  Regarding the basement temperature, there is a separate thermostat which controls the heat at that level.  Perhaps the guests did not notice it.***

I had the pleasure of staying at this camp just a few weeks ago in late June and I could not recommend it more. It is the perfect getaway, close to the mountains, the lake, and even a small downtown area full of entertainment. Most importantly, this location offers a down-to-earth relaxing atmosphere, complete with fireflies, constant bird songs, and a sky full of stars every night. The home itself was just what we were looking for. It gave us that camp-y feel while also providing updated appliances and modern amenities. The furniture and bedding looked and smelled as good as new and everything was extremely clean and tidy. The camp is beautiful and eccentric; we could tell a lot of thought was put into making it feel like a camp, from the wooden walls and floors down to the moose and bear salt and pepper shakers. The atmosphere made us feel right at home at Camp Whynot. When the weather was nice we traveled just a short distance to “downtown Rangeley” where we explored cute shops, a variety of restaurants and bars, and participated in a multitude of outdoor activities. When the weather was not-so-nice, there was plenty to do around the camp including various board games, movies, books and a great fire-pit. We had the best time staying at Camp Whynot. We will definitely be back, particularly in the winter so that we can participate in all the outdoor winter/snow activities that the Rangeley area has to offer. I recommend this place 100%.
