We recommend doing Smalls Falls if you are a new hiker who is interested in heading outside for their first hike. This easy, 0.5-mile trail takes just around 20 minutes and has an elevation gain of less than 35 feet, making it easy for older individuals, younger children, or those who just want a fast and pretty walk for a post-Thanksgiving meal exercise-filled afternoon. Smalls Falls offers tons of high and low viewpoints that are easily accessible from the convenient parking lot in Rangeley.
Secondly, you can’t go hiking in Rangeley, Maine, without going on a trip to the Bald Mountain hiking rail! This moderate, 2.3-mile trail is slightly longer than Smalls Falls and takes around 1 hour to complete.
