This beautiful getaway has something for everyone, whether you’re here for one of the area’s big summer events or hoping to sneak in a quiet escape between the crowds. In this post, we’re highlighting some of the most popular summer weekends in Rangeley, so if you’re looking to join the fun (or plan around it) you’ll know what to expect.
Rangeley Birding Festival

Enjoy guided trips, scenic chairlift rides, expert talks, and events hosted at Saddleback. If you’ve ever wanted to bird in Rangeley, this is the perfect weekend to do it.
White Nose Pete Fly Fishing Festival
June 6th & 7th: Celebrate Rangeley’s rich fly-fishing heritage at the White Nose Pete Fly Fishing Festival. Whether you’re an experienced fly fisher or just curious about the sport, this weekend is a great time to experience Rangeley’s outdoor culture.
Lupine Festival
June 14th: Celebrate the beginning of summer at the Lupine Festival, featuring Maine-made arts, crafts, antiques, and more on the grounds of the Outdoor Heritage Museum in Oquossoc. Browse local vendors, explore the museum’s exhibits, and stop by the gift shop for books, posters, and unique regional finds.
High Peaks PaddleFest & the Rangeley Oquossoc Adventure Rendezvous (ROAR)
June 20th-22nd: Make sure to catch Maine’s High Peaks PaddleFest, presented by the Northern Forest Canoe Trail and Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust, a celebration of outdoor adventure in the heart of the Rangeley Lakes Region. PaddleFest weekend includes clinics, gear demos, food, music, and fun for the whole family. The highlight of the weekend is the Rangeley Oquossoc Adventure Rendezvous (ROAR), a two-day, 40-mile stage race. ROAR takes paddlers through the stunning lakes, rivers, and portages once traveled by Native peoples and historic guides—now part of the Northern Forrest Canoe Trail. Whether you’re racing, cheering, or just soaking it all in, it’s a one-of-a-kind Rangeley Weekend.

Whether you’re a player gearing up for competition or a visitor looking for some fun, we’ve got all the details you need for a memorable weekend.
For Spectators: Fun for the Whole Family
Not playing but still want to join in the fun? Spectators are always welcome! The Rangeley Skating Club offers free skate rentals at Rangeley Adventure Co. for anyone who wants to hit the community rink on Haley Pond throughout the weekend. It’s the perfect way to get into the winter spirit and experience the excitement of the festival up close.
To keep you warm and comfortable between games, we’ll also have a giant heated tent where you can relax, enjoy snacks, and stay cozy while watching the action. It’s the perfect place to gather with friends, watch the games, and warm up between skating sessions!
From 4-6pm, there will be horse-drawn wagon rides starting at Rangeley Adventure Co. Enjoy a scenic ride through downtown Rangeley with Charlie & Chart!
For the Players: Compete in the Pond Hockey Tournament
If you’re looking to join the action, visit the Pond Hockey Festival Facebook page or click here to go to their website. This year’s festival promises to be an exciting event with teams battling it out in 4v4, 8-player games throughout the weekend. Teams will play multiple games on Saturday and Sunday mornings with a chance to advance to the playoffs on Sunday.
